FOOD FOREST GARDENING

The Food Forest

Here's a link below) to Robert Hart's great book on Forest Gardening. He was truly a vegan visionary in a time when social media did not exist to facilitate a swifter dissemination of such important information.  The video of Robert, who sadly passed away in 1991,  is a much watch!

URBAN FOREST GARDENING with Graham Burnett

UK-based vegan, Graham Burnett, has been practising permaculture for decades. His book, "Permaculture- A Beginner's Guide" is still available from 'Spiral Seed'.  (click on the link to visit Graham's website, and here for a recent article on an introduction to veganic permaculture).

The little video clip below introduces the viewer to a bit of forest gardening in one of Graham's allotments.

What is veganic agriculture?

Also called stock-free farming, vegan-organics is a system which avoids all artificial chemical products (synthetic fertiliser, pesticides, growth regulators), genetically modified organisms, animal manures and slaughterhouse by-products (blood, fish meal, bone meal, etc).

DIVA employs the word 'veganiculture' to reflect the integration of vegan-organics, permaculture techniques free of domestic animals, and the cross-cultural adoption of veganism as a dietary and lifestyle choice where possible around the world.
